Given another year in Canada Montreal would be destination number one. Nel's flat is a delightful collection of bits and bobs, knicks and knacks, collectibles, souvenirs and antiquated keepsakes which far from simply decorating shelves have, during the night while everyone sleeps, awoken and crept out and integrated themselves into the very life of the house.

Much like Traaaanaaaaaah food topped the priority list; queue poutine (hot chips gravy and cheese curds), smoked meat, crepes, icecream, chocolate croissants and breakfasts of eggs, cheese, crazy pink vegetathingos, rocket lettuce, olives, Jarlsberg, cherry tomatoes, toast, vege pate, pepperoni, pistachios... you get the idea.

Not content to give Nel *all* the pleasure of our company Micro and Terri offered a nice piece of floor and the free range of their extensive collection of interesting books. A relaxing week could be passed perusing all manner of industrial, historical and exploratory literature while munching delicious eats.

I don't intend to detract from what explorables exist in Montreal by rambling so much on other topics, simply that Montreal was a lazy pitstop on route to other places. There are fine examples of interesting urban oddities and glorious redbrick in MTL: check out worksongs, nel's site and controleman's blog to see the dirtier side of Montreal.

More photos coming eventually, they're locked tightly inside a roll of undeveloped Fortia. Next stop: NYC.
